Creative Master Shoemaking Workshop

This workshop is designed for individuals who wish to explore their creativity and craft a unique pair of shoes by hand using traditional shoemaking techniques.

During the workshop, we will work together to design the shoes you envision, or if you’re unsure, I will guide you in creating a new design.

This course is suitable for beginners to intermediate participants. No prior experience is required, but patience and creative ideas will be essential.

The price includes all materials, as well as the use of tools and equipment.

Throughout the workshop, you will learn essential skills such as:

  • Basic knowledge of leather and shoe theory
  • Creating basic shoe patterns
  • Leather cutting techniques
  • Using basic shoemaking tools
  • Hand and machine stitching
  • Hand-coloring and decorating leather
  • Making genuine leather soles and heels

By the end of the course, you’ll have not only a new pair of handmade leather shoes but also a memorable experience working with a master of design and craft.

The workshop takes place in my atelier in central Prague, near the National Theatre, in the SmetanaQ building—a space shared by 15 local designers, each with their own workshop. This environment offers an opportunity to meet fellow designers working in fashion, jewelry, and more. The atelier features a beautiful setting, with views of the Vltava River, Petrin Tower, and Prague Castle.

The location is easily accessible by metro and trams, making it perfect for those wishing to experience the charm of old Prague.

For the course, a minimum of 35 hours is required, spread over 5 days (7 hours per day).

I recommend bringing work clothes or an apron, as there may be splashes of paint, glue, or wax. Additionally, participants with long hair should tie it back for safety.

If you’re experienced with leatherwork, you may bring your preferred tools or materials.

The workshop includes a lunch break, with several restaurants nearby. We also have a small kitchenette with a microwave for your convenience.

Pricing:

  • 35-hour course: 34,000 CZK (1,500 EUR) per person
  • For two people: 57,000 CZK (2,500 EUR)

For more complex shoe designs requiring additional time, a fee of 7,200 CZK (300 EUR) per extra day (7 hours) will be applied.

A deposit of 50% is required two weeks before the course, with the remainder payable in cash or by card on-site.

The course is available in English, Czech, or Spanish.
