Persephona handbag

The sculptural bag inspired by Persephone — a symbol of transformation, mystery, and the passage between two worlds.

Handcrafted in Prague from rigid 2 mm Italian leather, its distinctive silhouette is shaped using traditional shoemaking techniques on a wooden last and meticulously stitched by hand to preserve its architectural character. The result is a piece that balances precision, craftsmanship, and imagination.

The leather is naturally tanned and finished with a rich wax patina that deepens its bordeaux-red tone while creating a luminous, mirror-like sheen. Its compact form is secured with concealed magnetic closures, preserving the purity of the design.

Presented at Designblok 2023 in the National Gallery Prague, Persephone reflects the intersection of contemporary design, traditional craftsmanship, and wearable art.
